FAQ

1. I have done Ayurveda. How is this different from that?

In Ayurveda, healing happens through herbal medicines, medicated ghee and other treatments, which are administered daily in different doses as prescribed by the doctor. Also, after the completion of the treatments, medications might be prescribed to be taken regularly to stay healthy.

Naturopathy is a drug-less system, which heals the body using its own innate healing power. Treatments are modalities used to activate the healing power within you. Scientific application of natural healing powers and of human touch awakens the ultimate healer - your Body. While Fasting - the supreme remedy - cleans you to cellular level, the natural diet nourishes and heals the physical body (‘Annamaya kosha'), Energy Medicine works inthe physiological level (‘Pranamaya kosha') and Yoga makes its impact in the mental layer (‘Manomaya kosha). The idea is to slowly heal the root causes of ailments - this is a gradual process and will also need changes in your lifestyle. You may be able to reduce or completely stop your existing medications as the body organs will restart working at their optimum.

2. Ayurveda did not suit me due to the ghee and I had to stop the treatments in between or take medical help. I am interested in the Naturopathic treatments offered at Prakriti Shakti but I’m worried.

There is nothing to worry about as there are no drugs or the usage of ghee in our treatments. Medical help is always available. All our doctors are well qualified in Naturopathy and monitor every patient very closely. We also have a tie-up with a good local hospital in case Allopathic attention is ever required.

7. Is it suitable to use the swimming pool in this weather?

Yes, the swimming pool is suitable to use all through the year. You may be restricted from swimming by doctors, if medically indicated.

8. Won't a raw diet or a juice-diet make me weak?

No. The juices and raw diet help the body to stay light and use the energy for healing. Digestive processes take up the majority of our body's energy. By keeping a light diet, the energy gets redirected to areas of the body that requires attention. The doctors will also monitor your body readings every morning and evening to ensure you stay well nourished all through.

We are very strict about tea/coffee not being allowed. Our doctors have used acupressure very successfully in handling such situations. All the patients have very happily kicked their habit of tea/coffee as the first thing in the morning and even during the day and replaced it with juices and smoothies.
